Sweet Sister,
The burden you carry is great. To see a loved one suffer in the flesh without the comfort of the Holy Spirit is hard to bear. No doubt the Lord has burdened your heart with witnessing and ministering to your mother. Don’t shy away from opportunities that the Lord may give to share Christ with lost family members and always be ready to give an answer for the hope within you. (1 Peter 3:15) God’s word states in 2 Corinthians 6:2 that “now is the day of salvation.” Remember it is not your job to convince any one to believe in Christ. That’s the work of the Holy Spirit. Your job is to speak truth, to tell others how much your Savior loves them and the price He paid to set them free. The example you live is a great testimony, but within you there is “the power of life and death”, Proverbs 18:21 states it lies in your tongue. God can use your spoken words to bring life to your mother and other lost family members. You sow the seed, and He will water and grow.
Father,
I lift up this dear one to You. Lord, as she seeks to bring light into the darkness, give her Your strength. Give her courage, boldness, and discernment to speak words of life to her loved ones. Lord could it be that she has come “for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14) Guide her to speak truth and trust in You for the outcome. To stand alone among unbelievers is difficult, Father as You sent out Your disciples You did not sent them alone but in pairs of two. I pray that You sent another Christian to stand beside her for encouragement and support. God, You say that it is not your will for any to perish, “but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter3:9) Work in the heart and mind of her family members, Lord bring them into new life in You. How Great is Our God!!
Lord, I know that You are still a miracle worker and You, Creator God, know this mothers inmost parts. I pray for healing both physical and spiritual. Comfort her in Your will for her life. Be with the health care team, give them wisdom and knowledge to most effectively treat her condition for optimal recovery. Be with the family as they also endure during this hardship.
In Christ Jesus name I pray,
Amen
